"Tonight's recipient is an exemplary sailing student. Her successful sailing year in the Opti was a direct result of her hard work and effort on the water. Not only did she win a regatta, but she also had top 10 finishes at the ILYA Championship. As a student, she always showed up to class with a competitive mindset ready to improve her skills. She never complained and acted as a role model for the rest of the students. Her willingness to be a substitute crew in the X boat was a tremendous help to the instructors and allowed other sailors to progress. Her manners, sportsmanship, and leadership skills were evident both on and off the sailboat. She has shown great commitment to the sport and is ready to take her skills to the next level.
